HOW DOES INTERCEPTORS WORK?


When the water flows under the bottom of the interceptor blade deploys down in the water flow and hydrodynamic pressure builds up in front of the interceptor blade. Adjusting the boats trim, stability and over all hydrodynamic pressure. Unlike conventional trim tabs, which use hinged plates that rotate downward into the water, a trim interceptor generates lift by extending a narrow vertical blade from the bottom edge of the transom.  Interceptor drag is up to 25% less compared to traditional trim tabs.

THE SETUP

Behind every smooth, stable ride is a complete ride control system working together. The Control Panel is your interface to the system, allowing you to adjust settings through the dedicated panel or your MFD. The Ride Control Unit (RCU) continuously processes real-time vessel data and calculates the optimal response. The Servo Unit converts those commands into precise blade movement, while the Interceptors instantly adjust trim and stability to changing conditions. Together, these components reduce drag, improve fuel efficiency, and deliver greater comfort, control, and performance on the water.

The Control unit with advanced sensors and calculating algorithms, 11—32 VDC operation; manages system functions, servo motors and power. In networks that include electrical fins, these are powered separately at 24 VDC.

THE CONTROL PANEL

The Control panel with large sunlight‑readable color display, makes the system extremely easy to use. Built‑in Wi‑Fi enables remote access for service and support via any internet-connected device, such as a smartphone or computer. Suitable for outdoor installations such as the flybridge.  The panel switches between day and night modes with user-selectable colour themes. NMEA 2000 certified.

The HCS-5 system combines exceptional mechanical quality with electronic control including motion sensors and world class brushless servo motors to provide instant and exact response to the hull dynamics.

Adding the fine-tuned boat control options Automatic Trim, Automatic List, Coordinated Turn or Stabilization Control will result in optimum comfort and performance regardless if the captain is a seasoned expert or a less experienced operator.

All the units are connected with watertight cables with the servo motors positioned protected inside the hull. HCS-5 can easily be upgraded with more functions, interceptors trim tabs and fins.
